Abstract

Plays host to Friedrich Wilhelm IV, who, among other things, is shown the corvette Galathea at the Custom House quay, a ship of the line under construction in the Royal Dockyard, the smithy on Gammelholm, weaponry in the arsenal, the collection of prints in the Royal Library, and those works by Thorvaldsen which are in storage in the Supplies Building.

Paa Toldboden ankom vi Kl 1½, og da det blæste for stærk for at bestige Galathea, besaae vi Holmen, var inde i det Linieskib, som bygges, saa alle Magasiner, roede til Gammelholm. Efter at have beseet Smed[i]en kiørtes til Arsenalet, hvor i Gaarden vort nye Jernskyts m.v. vistes, dernæst den militaire Vaaben Samling; det store Kongelige Bibliothek og Kobberstiksamlingen besøgtes, og Kongen og Følge indskrev Deres Navne i Fremmed Protocollen. Endeligen besaaes Thorvaldsens Kunstværker.
