Abstract

Sommariva writes that Christian (8.) Frederik and Caroline Amalie are going to present him with marble copies of their portrait busts, of which Thorvaldsen has already made very lifelike models, cf. A753 and A754.

[...] A proposito, anche i suddetti ospiti mi fecero sentire di avere incaricato il celebre Thorvaldsen di fare in marmo i loro busti, che ci destinano in regalo, avendo esso già fatto i modelli somigliantissimi. [...]
