Abstract

The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts has evaluated Thorvaldsen’s Bacchus and Ariadne, A1, and is pleased with his progress regarding his modelling skills. However, a sample of his marble work has not yet been presented to the Academy.

In spite of this, he will receive the remaining two years of his travelling grant, part of which is to be spent on his journey home. The Academy recommends him to travel via Paris.
