Comment on On the Cause of Thorvaldsen's Death
Thorvaldsen had a permanent seat in the theater and a free pass to its performances, N157. The seat Thorvaldsen died on has also been preserved as a separate folding seat, N187. The seat was given to the museum by theater painter C. F. Christensen (1805-1883), who reportedly had requested the seat on the night of Thorvaldsen’s death.
