• Thorvaldsen’s diary 1797 (Here Thorvaldsen writes that he disembarqued 1.2.1797, but the dating of the diary is wrong. The arrival probably took place the day before, see commentary on the diary).

• Thiele I, p. 82-83 (also cites the diary and is therefore a little uncertain about the date: Leaves Palermo on the 28^th, reaches Naples in the evening of the following day but goes ashore the next morning 1.2. It is not clear what happened to the 30^th and the 31^st).
