Kommentar til Ekkoer fra Antikken. Thorvaldsens samlinger som motivforrådskammer
Die Sammlung Alt-Nieder- und Ober-Deutscher Gemälde der Brüder Sulpiz und Melchior Boisserée und Johann Bertram, lithographiert von J.N. Strixner (Stuttgart, 1821–34). Thorvaldsen subscribed to the lithographs of the Boisserée collection and presumably replaced the images in his frames with new ones, each time he received a new shipment. This gives an impression of Thorvaldsen as a modern consumer of images in the light of new techniques of reproduction.
