Stampe’s unpublished manuscript, in particular, contains several examples of freezing-out and spitefulness. See e.g. the introduction, which deals with the way she was treated even before Thorvaldsen returned to Denmark, while she was working on raising money for the establishment of the museum from 1837 and on.
