Som det fremgår, boede Szymanowska på Golden Square. Det fremgår af Dickens’ The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby, at Golden Square på daværende tidspunkt var et sted, hvor der især boede udlændinge, herunder mange musikere: “Its boarding-houses are musical, and the notes of pianos and harps float in the evening time round the head of the mournful statue, the guardian genius of a little wilderness of shrubs, in the centre of the square”. Se: Charles Dickens’ The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby (1838-1839).
