Comment on Norse Mythology in Thorvaldsen's Art - a Virtually Omitted Motive
Fogelberg displayed sketches of his Thor (among other things) at the 1818 exhibition of the Geatish Society. In 1844, Thor was executed in colossal-size marble for a commission by King Karl XIV Johan. The statue stands today in the Nationalmuseum in Stockholm.
