  • Thiele I, p. 24, 26 and 32 (“During these years, Thorvaldsen lived with his parents in the house at no 226 in Aabenraa, and this flat, although it was limited to a couple of room on the first floor, showed that the family was prospering” and “In the last year referred to [1791] the family had lived somewhere in Vognmagergade, but as circumstances had now improved somewhat, they moved back to the same house in Aabenraa where they had lived before and did not content themselves with one half of the first floor, as before, but rented the entire floor. The young artist now had his own workroom just above the front door.”)
