Here Thorvaldsen writes about the work: “The Goddess of Peace, sitting with wings on the globe, is holding a caduceus in her right hand and, with her left arm, embracing the Genius of Plenty, who is standing by her side on the globe, under her feet are instruments of war on which she places her left foot”.
