In the evening, C.F.F. Stanley is buried in the Protestant cemetery in Rome. The grave is not known today.

  • Letter dated probably 22.11.1805 from Lundbye, which, among other things, contains Lundbye’s speech at the grave (the speech does not mention directly that Stanley was buried in the Protestant cemetery, only that it was the same place as Caspar Bartholin, who died 27.-28.9.1805. Another source dated end of September 1805, however, documents that Bartholin was buried in the Protestant cemetery.
