Gode Hr Justitsraad | SlotdetI |
Tak for Deres for alt den Godhed De har bevist min Fader
tilfulde, da jeg nødig vil gribe til den summa som er mig bestem[t] af Academiet til min tilbage Reise hvilken jeg ennu ikke har hævet
Sir, Counsellor. | The Palace. |
Thank you for your for all the kindness you have fully shown to my father,
as I with reluctance will resort to the sum which has been intended for me by the Academy for my return journey which I have not yet drawn.
[Translated by Karen Husum]
These fragments are without any doubt drafts of the letter of 18.6.1806 as the sentences are repeated there almost word for word. For comments on the contents, see that letter.

This probably means Christiansborg Palace, for which Thorvaldsen was hoping to receive commissions in the near future, see the finished letter of 18.6.1806, where he expresses this wish.
