One of the museums was probably Museo Etrusco Guarnacci, which was founded in 1761. The other museum cannot be identified. In Handbook for Travellers in Central Italy from 1843, only the Guarnacci museum is mentioned as a collection of Etruscan art; Bissen may refer to a private collection or the many Etruscan ruins at Volterra.
