Comment on Flora Italica. When an Italian Flowery Meadow Visited Thorvaldsens Museum

The years 1833 to 1845 are mentioned because the seven shipments during this time (1833, 1835, 1838, 1839, 1842, 1844, and 1845) were intended for the future Thorvaldsens Museum. Earlier, Thorvaldsen had shipped works to Copenhagen in 1798, 1800-02, 1825, and 1828, but those shipments were for other purposes. The first five shipments have been studied thoroughly by Ernst Jonas Bencard and Nanna Kronberg Frederiksen, whose articles on the subject can be read at arkivet.thorvaldsensmuseum.dk.
