The piaster was an Italian silver coin minted in the Papal States and other places. The bajocco/bajocchi was a small coin in the Papal States. There were 105 bajocchi to 1 piaster, while 1 bajocco = 1/100 of a Roman scudo, see also the related article about Monetary Units.
