Summer 1839

Wilhelm 1. visit Thorvaldsen’s workshop and commissions a marble version of the statue Cupid and the Graces, cf. A29, Further, he buys the reliefs The Seasons, cf. A642, A643, A644, A645, Shepherdess with a Nest of Cupids, cf. A425, and Cupid Complains to Venus about a Bee Sting, cf. A780. The reliefs are today at the Landesmuseum Württemberg, Stuttgart.
