Thorvaldsen asks Jonas Collin to help the history painter Andreas Ludvig Koop financially.

This draft must form the basis of another draft, which is found on Thorvaldsen’s sketch for the Monument to George Gordon Byron, C352.
The draft is probably addressed to Jonas Collin in his capacity as secretatry of Fonden ad Usus Publicos, from whom Koop applied for support several times, e.g. in 1830.
The draft is difficult to decipher, partly because it is written in very faint ink and also because of many spelling mistakes and a cramped hand. See the related articles about Thorvaldsen’s Spoken and Written Language and Thorvaldsen’s Letter Writing Proces for more about Thorvaldsen’s difficulties in this respect.

Dvs. inderligt.
I.e. the history painter Andreas Ludvig Koop, who had financial problems during the last many years of his life.
Dvs. hastigt, hurtigt.
Dvs. sørgelig.
Dvs. ham.
In 1825, Koop married the architect J.L. Thrane’s widow Giacinta, with whom he had lived since 1821. Thus both their own children and the wife’s children of her first marriage were part of the family.
