This brief message may have been written at Nysø, where Thorvaldsen stayed from 1839 after his return to Denmark, see the Thorvaldsen Chronology. As the note is in Danish and reveals a close relationship with its recipient, this might be Thorvaldsen’s hostess at Nysø, Christine Stampe. In addition, the handwriting is shaky, which might indicate a weak, elderly hand.
