In the context of Nerly’s motif of labour, it is worth noting that one of the many replicas of the painting is now in the Grohmann Museum, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - “the world’s most comprehensive art collection dedicated to the evolution of human work”, as the home page proudly states.
