Comment on Thorvaldsen's Works at Hams Hall

Namely, Anna Maria Laetitia Adderley (1812-1841) and Forster Alleyne McGeachy. McGeachy was also Adderley’s friend and mentor; cf. Childe-Pemberton, op. cit., p. 20. While it is at present unknown how long the couple stayed in Rome, they must have arrived before Adderley reached the city in December, and presumably left for home before Adderley returned from his further travels south and east for his second stay in Rome. Had this not been the case, Adderley presumably would have lodged with them once more, rather than (as it turned out) with Thorvaldsen.
