Comment on Dying Lion (The Lucerne Lion)

There are very few dead animals in Thorvaldsen’s works. Exceptions include the hare in Adonis, A53, the fleece of the golden ram, cf. A822, Hercules’ hide of the Nemean Lion, cf. A14, A749, and A317, and the panther skin found in representations of e.g. Bacchus.
