Comment on Shifting of Attributes - a Fundamental Feature in Thorvaldsen
This is not the place for a detailed account of the history of representations of this myth. But comparison of, for example, the relevant entries in LIMC —Lexicon Iconographicum Mythologiae Classicae, Zürich & Munich 1994, vol. VII, 1, p. 45ff. and vol. VII, 2, p. 30ff., indicates that Thorvaldsen does not follow a particular schema in his version of the story.
