Primary sources

  • Letter dated 30.1.1807 from Thorvaldsen to Schubart (”[...I have] worked in marble and made a small figure of Psyche…”).
  • The original model A26 was completed in November 1806.
  • Thiele II, p. 70-71 thinks that the statue had been commissioned by N.I. Stuhr, see his letter dated 6.3.1806.
