[...] I intended to write you an epistle on the flat style in bassorilievo and altorilievo but for want of room I must defer it since I have said in my letter to Mr Anstall that I can now obtain a complete victory whether I can convince you or not as I can now place my hands on examples of the finest specimens of antique altorilievo executed that manner, so far I will say this that the monument of Mr Hammerton was modelled under the eyes of the Cavaliere Thorvaldsen and the first artist in Europe.
