As I gave my opinion with certainty, in my letter of January 5th I should not have answered further, if it was not to add: that if you do not pay me the rest: 400 Scudi before the end of this year you must give up the mentioned Hebe completely, and as for the 200 Scudi, which I have received in advance, a return is out of the question, much less to regard it as a gift from you to me, whereas you are free to consider the 400 Scudi in arrears as a gift from me to you, if you do not redeem the Hebe on time, commissioned so many years ago, of which half of it (even more than half of it) was executed shortly after I was commissioned to make it, and which is standing at my place in Rome for which Ferdinandi Mori’s engravings, s Kysterman [?] among which an engraving has been made among my first works, may serve as proof.- Nothing more will be done to the mentioned Hebe until I have received the rest 400 Scudi in the described way. NB: Before the end of this month you must let me know whether you still want the figure (on the conditions stipulated in my last letter, namely before the end of this year to indicate a house, where I can deliver the figure and receive the money) However, if no answer arrives this month, I shall consider it all annulled.
In two letters you have now questioned my statement regarding the existence of the figure, I consider this rude! and with the proof, which you can easily procure, the rudeness is rebounding on you; —
