For many years, I have intimately known the royal Würtemberg consul in Rome Carl Kolb, Knight of the Würtemberg crown, and I can truthfully certify that in his occupation as a respectable businessman as well as consul for Würtemberg he deserves general esteem and he is well accredited to the papal court. So I know of nobody more worthy of filling the Danish consulship, the business of which he has undertaken with so much kindness and attention to the Danes since the death of Chiaveri.
Copenhagen, July 2nd 1840
Respectfully,
