From the favour of April 27th this year from the Royal Academy of Fine Art I learnt that the frigate intended for fetching my objects of art at Leghorn after royal orders will be able to stay at that place until the month of July: but as I already earlier have been informed about the time of arrival of the frigate I have seen to it that the objects of art have been sent from Rome in good time, so that they arrive at Leghorn almost at the same time as the frigate and they can be brought onto the ship without being disembarked first, so that expenses are saved and the possible accidents are avoided, which the frequent moving of the crates causes. –
Hereby I respectfully send the list of the objects of art packed in the crates and only regret that I cannot possibly be present in Copenhagen when they are opened, as my work here, inevitable and necessary will not permit me to make use of this beautiful opportunity to go home by the royal frigate.
In the meantime I recommend my works to the kind care of the Academy and I hope soon in person to be in its honourable midst

Rome, June 11th 1835

respectfully,
Albert Thorvaldsen
