Rome, July 2nd 1814
Because of her protracted illness the doctor has advised signorina Laura Zoëga not to stay over the summer here in Rome as it would be very injurious to her present condition, on the contrary she should seek to enjoy the sea air. So she has seized this quick decision to go to Leghorn with a family who leaves from here tomorrow
She has nobody in this world but you, Sir, she has had to practically support her family with which she was living here in Rome after the death of the husband so that she herself suffered want, she herself will best relate it all.
I am fully occupied with the bas-relief for your unforgettable wife
