Other examples of this multinational national interest are the Swiss historian P.-H. Mallet (1730-1807), who during his Copenhagen professorship 1752-1762 wrote Monumens de la mythologie et de la poésie des Celtes et particulièrement des anciens Scandinaves, (1756) and the German poet Friedrich Klopstock (1724-1803), who was subsidized by the Danish king for 52 years and inspired the national poet Johannes Ewald.
