I.e. he had written to Thorvaldsen through “Prince Palazola”, probably a member of the Neapolitan aristocratic family of Ruffo, possibly Fulco Ruffo di Calabria-Santapau (1801-1848), 8th prince of Palazzolo, see Horneman’s letter dated 4.5.1829.
